Set in the southern city of Johor Bahru, Malaysia, this film centres the ordinary moments in the lives of a young boy and his father who are coping with a tragic loss. At the same time, a boyish young woman returns to photograph the backdrop of her past. Translated to English, the title means ‘like the owl misses the moon’ and indeed this a film that tugs at your heartstrings through reflections on unrequited longing.
