Full Synopsis
Showing in a new restoration, this foundational, powerful document unflinchingly gazes at the two men on trial for the murder of Vincent Chin, the young journalists like Helen Zia who were politicised through their activism, and the courageous Lily Chin, Vincent’s aggrieved mother. Who Killed Vincent Chin? continued the partnership of filmmakers Christine Choy and Renee Tajima-Peña, two staples of Asian American documentary who would work together for another decade.
This film is featured in the strand Reclaiming History, part of the Constellating Histories: Encountering Asian American Diasporas Onscreen programme. For the full programme lineup please click here.
