Full Synopsis

hUSh tells the story of Cinta Ramlan, an aspiring singer from Bali who travels to Jakarta in search of success. She encounters the trappings of fame and exposure, insincere boyfriends, materialistic impulses, fleeting friendships, and empty sexual encounters. When a breakup causes her extreme heartache, she decides to travel home to take refuge. Her journey becomes the foundation for a discussion about all things pertaining to women’s issues.

hUSh is the first film co-written and co-directed by Indonesian filmmaker Djenar Maesa Ayu and Singapore filmmaker Kan Lume. The film competed for the NETPAC Award at the 2017 Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival.
