Ratanaruang
Delve into the art of filmmaking with one of Thailand's most
talented and progressive filmmakers, Pen-ek Ratanaruang.

filmmaking, drawing from the director's vast experience. Using
his own films as a canvas for discussion, the director will go
into detail of how he translates scripts to film reality, making
difficult creative decisions and how he has moved into the
international arena in both production and audiences.
Participants can expect intimate discussions with the director.
Participants are strongly encouraged to watch the films of the
director to be able to participate in the discussion. The
Retrospective on Pen-ek Ratanaruang screens from 11 - 12 Sept at
the Singapore History Museum.
About Pen-ek Ratanaruang
Pen-ek Ratanaruang is arguably one of the Thailand’s most
talented and progressive filmmakers with five feature films
under his belt. Producing a feature film almost every two years,

Last Life in the Universe, was reviewed as “full of magical
surprises” by BBC Films and “allusive, and enigmatic” by The New
