Singapore short films have been specially selected for the
inaugural Singapore Shorts DVD Compilation: 3 Feet Apart by
Jason Lai, Autograph Book by Wee Li Lin, Birthday by Bertrand
Lee, Locust by Victric Thng, Mother by Royston Tan, Moving House
by Tan Pin Pin, The Call Home by Han Yew Kwang, The Secret
Heaven by Sun Koh, While You Sleep by Eva Tang. The
filmmakers will be present to share their experiences
and hopes for the film community in Singapore. They
would also be there. A food
reception will follow the sharing session.
Proceeds from the DVDs will go to raising funds to support
the preservation and cultural mission of the Asian Film Archive.
Join us as we celebrate this milestone in the Singapore
cinematic history. Everyone is invited.

Lose yourself to a crowd of strangers
packed like a swarm of LOCUST, but place your hopes in
Destiny to reunite lost lovers. Such is a poignancy shared by a
migrant worker who makes a CALL HOME to far away India;
although the same radio waves that brings people together keep a
pair of electromagnetic lovers 3 FEET APART.
Yet, distance is a drug we cannot live
without. Escape into THE SECRET HEAVEN invented by a 5
year-old piano student in search of liberty and freedom. Follow
a teenage couple as they prepare for their son's BIRTHDAY
on what might be the last day of their marriage, just as an
AUTOGRAPH BOOK threatens the friendship between two 12
yr-old girls.
Distance makes the heart grow fonder for
the wandering son who returns to reconcile with his MOTHER.
Time and place might have stood still for a mother in coma, but
it created room for her family to communicate in WHILE YOU
SLEEP.
Trace the
footsteps of those forced to relocate their family’s gravesite
in MOVING HOUSE, for even the dead are not spared from
the torment of distancing.
