Educators' Workshop
Singapore Culture & Identity Through Its Film
|
BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND!!! |
This workshop will demonstrate how films can be used as resources for teachers to
explore the various themes of National Education. With reference to both short films
and feature films by Singaporean filmmakers, the workshop will elaborate on how
films can be analysed and discussed to illuminate issues such as Singapore's history,
geography, relations with neighbouring countries, interracial understanding, and
the Singaporean identity. Participants will be led through exercises in textual
analyses, with a focus on how filming and editing techniques are used to create
meaning.
Alfian Bin Sa'at is a Resident Playwright with W!ld Rice, one of Singapore's most
